Markus Bongartz, born in 1963 likes to write for great and inhomogeneous instrumentations. But also solo pieces and works for instruments and computer generated tapes belong to the centre of his work.

Similar to many composers of his generation a centrifugal force lies in the variety of his instrumentations and working methods. Behind his stylistic unconcern there is a hidden form of flight and creative restlessness – somehow even a game: a subtle doubt drives the music through all sorts of masquerades, euphoric conditions, pathos and wrong objectifications – without entirely fulfilling the entered obligations or disentangling intertwined lines in predictable patterns.
